How to Disable Stock Count for a Product in Nexchar POS

In Nexchar POS, you can choose whether or not to track inventory for each product. This feature is useful if you sell both physical products and non-inventory items such as services, fees, or unlimited-stock products.

When to Disable Stock Count

You may want to disable stock tracking in the following cases:

  • Services (e.g., Haircut, Repair Service, Consultancy Fee).

  • Non-inventory items (e.g., Delivery Charge, Gift Wrapping, Membership Fee).

  • Unlimited stock products (e.g., napkins, straws, small consumables you don’t track individually).

  • Dropshipping or consignment sales where you don’t physically manage stock.

How to Enable or Disable Stock Tracking

  1. Go to the Products section in your Nexchar POS dashboard.

  2. Select the product you want to edit or create a new one.

    Enable or Disable Inventory Tracking

  3. Scroll down to the Inventory section.

  4. Locate the option Track Inventory.

    • ✅ If enabled → Stock quantity will decrease automatically with every sale.

    • ❌ If disabled → Stock will not be tracked, allowing unlimited sales.

  5. Click Save to apply your changes.

Example (from the Inventory Section)

  • Track Inventory enabled:

    • Current stock is 4985 units. Each sale reduces stock by one.

  • Track Inventory disabled:

    • Stock is not reduced. The product can be sold unlimited times without affecting inventory.

Best Practice

We recommend:

  • Enable stock tracking for physical products you want to manage.

  • Disable stock tracking for services, fees, or items you don’t need to count.

This gives you flexibility while keeping inventory reports accurate for the items that matter.
