Creating and selling weighted products in Retail POS

If your business needs to sell items by weight, you can create items with weight-based units. Whether an item is sold by piece (bottle, pack, etc.) or by weight (pound, kilogram, etc.) is determined by the Sold by option.

You can change this option both in the Back Office and the mobile POS.

Step 1: Go to the Back Office to update a product. Select the Products menu. Select your desired product.

Step 2: From the Edit product page, go to the option Sold by to indicate whether a product is sold by piece (bottle, pack, etc.) or by weight (kilogram, pound, etc.).

Step 3: Tap on the Unit section to open a drop-down list to choose the type of unit. Enter the price per weight (e.g., per kilogram). Tap Save to apply settings.

Step 4: Now open your Desktop POS. From the sell screen, click the Sync button from the menu. Then restart your POS app.

Step 5: Now add the item to the shopping cart. The product will be added to the cart with the indication of price for a weight multiplied by its actual weight.

From the edit cart, you can change item quantity using price.
